THE Total Approach
David Elwood is a certified Jeet Kune Do
instructor in the Total Approach Organization headed by Master Leo Fong. He has
studied martial arts for over 35 years. He holds a 3rd degree Black Belt in
American Isshynryu, a Black Belt in Tang Soo Do and is an instructor in American
Arnis. He also holds several other current association ranks in jujitsu and JKD.
While studying, he also competed in numerous boxing and kickboxing matches. He
was the recipient of the East Coast Streetfighting Tournament Master's
Division Award.
Dave Elwood has trained with virtually every JKD instructor and attended every
JKD training camp on the East
Coast. He is known by other JKD instructors as "well-balanced" and a "dedicated
practitioner".Sifu Elwood has also coached several national champions and NHB competitors. TAJKD arts can be used successfully in Mixed Martial Arts competitions as is proven by TAJKD champions. TAJKD has produced winners at every competition which they enter. Sifu Elwood was recently inducted into the 2003 US Martial Arts Hall of Fame as the "Jeet Kune Do Instructor of the Year".
Mr. Elwood has authored two books and six videos on
self-defense training and contributed to the book " Worst
Case Scenarios " by Josh Piven, providing insight into
"How To Win A Barfight". He was featured in "MA
Training" magazine teaching sparring and entry drills. He
has also provided fight choreography to various movie productions
